After the projection of the once again astonishing short films of the bright minded kids of Bahia de Caraquez, we finished our incredible trip through the middle of the earth with a relaxing beach day in Canoa. Then everything went quite fast: up the Andes back to Quito, hop on the plane and there we were already at the next destination and the second country to visit with Living Legends- COLOMBIA.
Our friends from the hosting organization in Colombia, Casa B, gave us a warm welcome and the international team got to know their project in the central Bogota district of Belen. Casa B is a restored colonial house, which serves as a meeting point for the youth of the area. There is a library, a mediate, a skate school, a magazine editorial and a “cine-huerta”. The “cine-huerta” impressed us a lot, as it is an outdoor space where movies get projected regularly and at the same time it´s an urban gardening project. Casa B also offers film making, photography, skate boarding and …workshops on a regular base.
In the evenings we had the luck to be taken out to party Colombian style by our Bogota crew…we got to listen some hot tropical stuff mixed with electronic beats and experienced the friendly and open minded way of the” rolos”.
THANKS BOGOTA! We will be back! But for now we are starting over with the first Living Legends workshop in Colombia just a two hours ride from the capital: Sesquillé.
